Contradictory

As Assumed

[pw = pagan word translation]

Here we will begin to answer some of the common claims that the Bible contradicts itself

1) Question:creator

Who created heaven and earth? (Genesis 1:1 says God, Colossians 1:16 says Jesus, 1 Corinthians 8:6 says both, without clarifying they're the same)

Answer:

1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one Elohim, the Father, of (*ek) whom are all things, and we in him; and one Master Yahushua Ha Mashiak (pw Lord Jesus Christ) , by (dia) whom are all things, and we by him.

Note the different words translated in Geek "ek" versus "dia"

ek

A primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence motion or action proceeds), from, out (of place, time or cause; literally or figuratively; direct or remote): - after, among, X are, at betwixt (-yond), by (the means of), exceedingly, (+ abundantly above), for (-th), from (among, forth, up), + grudgingly, + heartily, X heavenly, X hereby, + very highly, in, . . . ly, (because, by reason) of, off (from), on, out among (from, of), over, since, X thenceforth, through, X unto, X vehemently, with (-out). Often used in composition, with the same general import; often of completion.

dia

A primary preposition denoting the channel of an act; through (in very wide applications, local, causal or occasional). In composition it retains the same general import: - after, always, among, at, to avoid, because of (that), briefly, by, for (cause) . . . fore, from, in, by occasion of, of, by reason of, for sake, that, thereby, therefore, X though, through (-out), to, wherefore, with (-in). In composition it retains the same general import.

While Yahuah created the world and everything ORIGINATES FROM (ek) Him including his Son (who was begotten) all things were created for the sake of  (dia) his Son. We who are saved by His redemption become his Son's inheritance.

Heb 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which Elohim hath given me.

Yes Yahushua and Yahuah Elohim are indeed not one and the same and scripture makes no contradiction on that. Yahushua never declares himself to be Yahuah Elohim ever. You can read my free online book loaded with scripture references and evidence:  Why Yahushua(Jesus) is not Elohim (God)

2) Question:

Were plants created before or after humans (this also is a nice contradiction with science, btw)? Genesis 1:11-13 says after humans, Genesis 2:4-7 says before humans. Let's ignore Genesis for a moment (there's more there, of course).

Answer:

Genesis 1:11-13  is taken as the correct order since Yahuah lays out the days by number sequence divided by rotation of the earth between light and darkness not yet condensed into a moon and sun ( but still called evening and morning,  the first  day, second day etc etc )

Thus the plants are created on yom (day ) 3 and man on day 6 as stated. Thus according to Yahuah plants are created before man and not after as you have stated.

Note very carefully.

Gen 1:11 “Let the earth bring forth grass, ...herb…fruit tree” and then this process happens on that same day  verse 12 “And the earth brought forth grass...herb, tree.

What is this process “bring forth”  (Hebrew dasha – sprout)? So the seeds Yahuah has created on  day 3 also sprout out of the earth on day 3. Remember seeds do not require light to sprout only water, some warmth is helpful and that had been provided the day before (day 2) and water preceding that.  Sprouting simply means the seed goes from dormancy to life it does not mean a fully mature plant had to appear on day 2 or a field of grass although if you have grown seeds as I do you may be surprised at the speed and we know the genetic superiority before the fall of man. (Yahuah made a vine grow in one night to shade Jonah, he also sent a worm to kill it- this is why He is the Creator)

The purpose of this description in Genesis 1 is to primarily lay out the sequence of creation. This is the summary overview before the detail comes as is common in Hebrew (and eg modern day news reporting etc Headlines and then detail). Yahuah then zooms in at Gen 2:4-7

Gen 2:4  These are the generations of the shamayims (pw heavens) and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Yah'uah Elohim made the earth and the shamayims,

Gen 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for Yah'uah Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

So this is the generations (toledah- history) in the day (yom ) space of time (6 days) This is now a detailed description now that spans within the 6 days of the history ( looking back) of the creation that just occurred in Genesis 1. The focus is not on any sequence (the when ) but rather more on the how. Here we hear about how man receives life and becomes a living soul.

So again there is no man yet to till the ground since the plants are created before man. This is in harmony with Genesis 1:11-13 there is  no contradiction and everything falls in with science (although Yahuah is not bound by science – he is the creator of it).

3) Question:

When were humans created? (Genesis 1:25-27 has them being created after the other animals, Genesis 2:18-19 before)

Answer:

Land animals were created on the sixth day on the same day as man as in Genesis 1:25-27 states

Gen 1:25  And Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.

Gen 1:26  And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27  So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.

There is no indication here of any order in which things were created on the sixth day and it is irrelevant except that on that day sixth day everything that man needed was available on that day by  :

the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth... every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat...every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

No contradiction here.

Gen 2:19  And out of the ground Yahuah Elohim formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

To assert a contradiction exists is the same as claiming that a witness in court has contradicted themselves in the following way. The witness first describes the sequence of events of a murder.First a man broke in through the window and then stabbed the victim. The witness next details the number of stab wounds and thereafter describes the size of the hole in the window. To say this is now a contradiction because it does not follow the order of events is as preposterous as those claiming a contradiction in Genesis.

4) Question:

When was the first woman created? (Gen 1:25-27 has her being created at the same time as the first man, Genesis 2:18-22 after)

Answer:

Gen 1:27  So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.

No contradiction here, in fact this is scientific since when Yahuah created man he created woman within the man’s genetic code, the woman was genetically created (had the phenotype – imaged) within Adam and was then physically ‘cloned’ after by Yahuah taking bone and flesh with genetic material.

This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh (a clone): she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

5) Question:

How many animals per "kind" were there on the ark? (Genesis, several verses: 2 || Genesis 7:2 says 7)

Answer:

This is very simple both accounts are true. There was indeed a pair of every genus [clean* (tahor) and unclean* (tamay)] for the saving of all animal life. Over and above that, 6 extra pairs of the clean (tahor) animals were needed for the supply of food for Noah and his family during and post flood. This could include goats for milk, chickens for eggs etc. Providing additional information is not a contradiction.

No contradiction here.

6) Question:

How long was the flood? (Genesis 7:17 says 40 days, Genesis 7:24 and Genesis 8:3 says 150)

Answer:

The flood refers to four processes: rain falling, fountains of the deep springing up (which provided the majority of the water to cover the highest mountains, then the rain stopping, the fountains of the deep stopping and finally the return of all the water to allow the ark to rest back on the ground. This whole process took 150 days, 40 days is simply the flooding time which allowed for the ark to be lifted off the ground until the rain only stopped.

We generally consider a flood in two ways , 1) when the rains stops  2) when the rivers stop flooding their banks and low lying land which happens much later etc however in the case of the Genesis  flood there are more things going on since the entire globe was covered and this further involved sea water ( tsunamis as well ) prevailing over the land. The prevailing waters are mentioned.

The forty days refers specifically to the rain and not to the other sources of water mentioned. The actual rain, water falling from above for the very first time.

Gen 7:12  And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Gen 8:3  And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated (lowered)

Gen 8:4  And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

So the bible defines the flood in both ways 1) the process of the rain as well as 2) the entire process from rain to returning to dry land again. No reasonable person would question such a thing.

No contradiction here.

7) Question:

How old was Abraham when Ishmael was born? Acts 7:2-4, Genesis 11:32 and Genesis 16:4-15 don't agree with that.

Answer:

Gen 16:16  And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

Gen 11:26  And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

One verse refers to the age of Abram when he had Ishmael the other refers to the age of his father Terah when he had his first born (probably Haran).

No contradiction unless we are trying to compare apples with oranges.

8) Question:

Does God desire animal sacrifices? (Yes: Genesis several times, but also Exodus 20:24 | No: Psalm 40:6, 50:13, 51:16, Isaiah 1:11, Jeremiah 6:20, Jesus also doesn't want them in Matthew 9:13, 12:7)

Answer:

The scriptures cannot be taken piece meal it needs to be taken in full context.

Prophet Isaiah warns about this:

Isa 28:13  But the word of Yahuah יהוה  was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

We have the corrupted religion of Christianity doing this all the time. See my article :  https://truerevival.yolasite.com/filthy-rags-or-righteous-fruit.php )

Exo 20:24  An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt slaughter animals (pw sacrifice) thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy shalom (pw peace) offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will baruch (pw bless) thee.

Psa 40:6  Animal slaughter (pw sacrifice ) and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and torah transgression (pw sin) offering hast thou not required.

Psalm, 40:6 proves that Yahuah never ever DESIRED (khawphates- delighted in ) animal slaughter (pw sacrifice) and offerings but man certainly needed it because man had chosen to transgress Yahuah's command not to eat of the forbidden fruit and that led to more transgressions. Thus man would always need his torath transgressions covered by blood.

Apostle Shaul (Paul) speaking on day of Atonement – Yom Kippur:

Heb 9:7  but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the unintentional torah transgressions (errors) of the people.

This was Yahuah's kindness to us so as not to destroy Adam and Eve and thus all of mankind. This allowed for the future blood offering that WOULD COME, which he had planned from the foundation of the world as stated in scripture, Yahushua, his Lamb and perfect offering which would bring an end to animal slaughter.

David here in Psalm 40 has the revelation that Yahuah wants obedience not animal offering. He wanted the obedience of Adam and Eve not animal offerings but they failed. Following the offering of Yahushua's blood we are cleansed of our torah transgressions and the original disobedience by Adam and Eve (pw sin) which no animal offering could provide for eternal life.

Psalms is not just tehilim (praise songs) it is prophetic and in verse 6 we have the mention of Yahushua who would come to bring an end to animal offering

Psa 40:6  In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

Psa 40:7  Then I said, “Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me (Mashiak Yahushua):

Psa 40:8  I delight to do your will, O my Elohim; your torah (law) is within my heart.”

This is in harmony with the Brit Hadasha ( Renewed Covenant falsely called New Testament ) prophesied which would renew the Everlasting Covenant between Yahuah and Abraham, Yahuah said he will write his laws not on stone but on the hearts of his people  and they will delight to do his torah. This is how his Son Yahushua fulfilled the law, it was from the heart.

Apostle Shaul (Paul):

2Co 3:3  And you (fellow believers) show that you are a letter from Mashiak delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living Elohim, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of fleshly hearts.

Jer 31:33  But this shall be (SOMETHING NEW IN THE FUTURE ) the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahuah יהוה , I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.

Jer 31:34  And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahuah יהוה : for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith יהוהYahuah : for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their torah transgression no more.

Yahuah made it clear that these offerings were of no use or pleasure to Him personally and were only meant for man’s interim redemption.

Psa 50:13  Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?

But more importantly he repeatedly said they were of no delight to Him when man offered them without a change in heart, ie he intended to continue transgressing the same transgressions in future.

Isa 1:11  To what purpose is the multitude of your animal offerings (pw sacrifices) unto me? saith יהוה : I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.  (‘full of’ perhaps this is where the idiom fed up comes from??)

Why was Yahuah metaphorically fed up? Because in this context Israel had become a spiritual Sodom and Gomorrah - torahless! False religions which claim to follow the bible are largely the same today ie Christianity / Catholicism / Judaism – torahless traditions.

Isa 1:9  Except יהוה  of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Isa 1:10  Hear the word of יהוה , ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our Elohim, ye people of Gomorrah.

Psa 51:5  Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in torah transgression did my mother conceive me.

David has a revelation of the original ‘sin’ that he is born with and every man is born this way. In this context and this context alone, there was no animal offering that David could offer to repay this debt. He would still have his past torah transgressions before him (consciously). He knows he must have his heart changed.

Psa 51:16  For you will not delight in animal offering (pw sacrifice), or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.

Now, only in the context of a wrong heart David says Yahuah will not delight in an animal offering from him. His heart must be intent to do right and repent, turn away from torah transgression and then his animal offering would be acceptable to Yahuah. Note he was not saying no offerings are to be given as he then says 3 verses after that when his heart is right the following :

Psa 51:19  then will you delight in right animal offering (pw sacrifices), in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.

Psa 40:6  Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Yahuah certainly did not need our sin offerings, but sinful man in the interim needed them to allow him not to die out on earth until the redeemer would come. His own son who lived Torah perfectly could only be the pure offering who would take on our torah transgressions, die and be raised to life as he was righteous with no original sin (thus he became the last Adam).

David in Psalm 40 has the revelation of this ultimate FUTURE atonement that would come that would cleanse us from torah transgressions done in ignorance but also those that have been done willfully for which there was no slaughter or offering provided for in Torah.

All the various “sin” offerings described in Torah (books of the law) for different “sins” are described but there were none that could wipe out willful torah transgression and we are all born with original “sin” (in other words the will to sin until we are born again in Yahuah and are perfected in him as we hate sin and love torah - righteousness).

Apostle Shaul (Paul) explains the change from then:

Heb 9:9  Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and animal slaughters, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

David was given the prophecy of the Mashiak savior, the ultimate offering and eternal life that he would provide.

Like the other prophets he was given a revelation of the Renewed Covenant ( falsely called New Testament). Prophet Daniel too was shown the end to animal slaughter through Mashiak (pw Messiah)

Dan 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Mashiak be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the ruler that shall come shall destroy the city and the kodesh place (pw sanctuary); and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Dan 9:27  And he (Yahushua) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the animal slaughter (pw sacrifice) and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Yahuah does not desire animal slaughter this is why he went so far as to end it through his Son which he foretold would happen. But following this ultimate offering there is now NO MORE BLOOD that can be offered thus making it a dangerous thing to willfully sin after receiving redemption through Yahushua.

Heb 10:26  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more offering for torah transgressions,

This is why Catholicism is a sick and dangerous blasphemy when it comes to their abominable inventions such as the Eucharist and Transubstantiation for which I recently wrote an article    https://truerevival.yolasite.com/transubstantiation-how-low-can-you-go.php .

Animal offering was a foreshadow to the guilty of the cost of torah transgression. One would have to take an innocent lamb and slaughter it. However this still did not prevent much of the Hebrews in the future from torah transgression due to the hardness of their hearts. The ultimate cost was Yahuah’s own first begotten ( foreshadowed in the test to Abraham to offer his son Isaac) note how Yahuah provided a lamb and stopped Abraham. This is a prophetic foreshadow of the perfect lamb Yahushua, which Yahuah would provide. Yahuah again shows the cost of torah transgression and how grievous it is to Abraham by a practical demonstration (almost).

Jer 6:20  To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your animal slaughters (pw sacrifices) sweet unto me.

Why? Answer:

Jer 6:19... because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

This is equivalent to the false torahless religion of Christianity where they think they can transgress torah (sin) all week, attend ‘church’ on a Sunday for an hour and give so-called tithes and Yahuah finds that an acceptable offering. Just as Yahuah had not commanded pagan sweet sugar cane offerings which downfallen Israel was now offering so too Christianity invents its own torahless offerings.

Does paying money, for example to a church for instance make a sinner right? NOT AT ALL  besides ‘Sunday worship’, ‘church’ and ‘tithing’ now not being scriptural, they reject Yahuah since they hate his torah and his Son who preached it and they do not turn from their torah transgressions like apostate Israel did. They are torahless Pharisees.

Apostle Shaul (Paul) makes it clear under the Renewed Covenant in Yahushua that our lives themselves must be a living offering to Yahuah by obedience.

Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the kindness of Elohim, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, MORALLY BLAMELESS, ACCEPTABLE unto Elohim, which is your reasonable service.

Mat 9:13  But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have kindness (pw mercy), and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Yes – Here Yahushua repeats what Yahuah had said to morally apostate Sodom and Gomorrah -like Israel. Obedience must be in the heart, not empty religious ceremony. This is in harmony with Rom 12:1.

The Pharisees were criticizing Yahushua on takanot (empty Pharisaical traditions - religious ceremony not commanded in torah) while not keeping torah itself. He says the torah transgressors whose hearts are right will be saved and will then be led to obey torah rather than empty religious ceremony through the kindness of his salvation.

Yahushua was also prophesying that there would be no more animal offering in future after his own offering was given and thus the focus would be on repentance and obedience through the kindness of Yahuah on those he has poured out his kindness upon (even Gentiles).

More questions and answers to come, Yah willing.
