You have heard it said...you boast in the law
Rom 2:17-24
"Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God, and know His will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law. You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written. "
intimating the same lies that Martin Luther taught

In Romans Does Shaul (Paul) Condemn the Preaching of To'rah?
Does he despise it? Does He Say the Proud Are Those Who Follow To'rah?
Certainly Not For He Says the Proud Are the To'rahless!
David confers the same in agreement with Yah'uah as to who the proud are
Psa
119:21 You rebuked the proud, cursed ones, Who are straying
from Your commands.
Psa
119:51 The proud have utterly scorned me, I did not turn
aside from Your Torah.
Psa
119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me, With all my
heart I observe Your orders.
So quoting Romans to make out the law ( To'rah) is something that should not be boasted in or respected is a common error or indeed intended deception in the false religion of "christianity". Martin Luther was instrumental in this as well in the 1500s. Shaul cannot contradict himself or Yah'uah concerning his To'rah. Romans 2 primarily is written against the circumcision (concision) of Judaism who believed a Gentile had to be circumcised in order to be part of the inheritance of Yah'uah even after Messiah has come. But it was worse than that they believed this fleshly sign could replace the actual keeping of To'rah or guarantee inheritance regardless of sin. So the circumcision law became a law unto its own and not subject to To'rah.
False teachers will rebuke us who preach To'rah, accusing us of being "Jewish" in the full derogatory term it is, as if the preaching of To'rah is somehow bad ("Judaism") and the preaching against it a good thing ( "christianity") Shaul preached neither "Judaism" nor "christianity". While deceivers preach the law is obsolete they create their own law and thus make it a sin to follow a non-Judaic, non-christian Messiah who keeps and preaches To'rah, a Yahudi (Jewish) Messiah. Should we be quaking in our boots at this accusation? Should we be ashamed? Of course not! Let the anti-Torah Marcion spirit expose itself as it truly is-Babylon! This word Jew /Jewish is nonetheless a misnomer created by this anti-Torah camp. The pure word is Yahuda (worshiper of Yah'uah). The word Jew is meant to be a derogatory slur which of course came about with antisemitism by the catholic anti-Torah campaign against To'rah-keeping believers in Messiah (Yahudim or Ex gentiles) so it is no surprise that some would go so far as to use Shaul as a condemner of To'rah keepers and making a slur against them as though he were not a Jew but a "christian" ( yes my eyes are rolling around and I am sighing). This would be because catholicism has led them to believe that Shaul is some inventor of a new To'rahless religion called "christianity" ! What a joke. For more see Do You Really Want To Be Called a Christian?
Let's see what Shaul is really saying in Romans 2:17-24 which was quoted to us supposedly to prove an alleged anti-Torah teaching by Shaul.Strike 1:
“...you are called a Jew...”
Shaul was a Yahuda (misnomer Jew) so this statement applies to himself as well.
Strike 2:
“...and rest (rely on/ have confidence) on the law...”
Yahuchanon a Yahuda (pw Jew) teaches us all about confidence in the commandments ( law)
1Jn 3:21 Beloved ones, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward Elohim. 1Jn 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we guard His commands and do what is pleasing in His sight.
Joh 9:31: “And we know that Elohim does not hear sinners. But if anyone fears Elohim and does His desire, He hears him.
Solomon a Yahuda (Jew) teaches us all about confidence in the commandments (law)
Jas 5:16: Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, so that you are healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous one accomplishes much.
Strike 3:
“and make your boast in Elohim (pw God)”
Shaul a Jew boasts in Yah’uah Elohim and teaches it QUOTING if from the so-called OLD Testament prophet YermiYAHhu (Jeremiah)
2Co_10:17 But “He who boasts, let him boast in יהוה.”
Jer 9:25 “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall punish all CIRCUMCISED with the UNCIRCUMCISED –
Jer 9:26 “Mitsrayim (Egypt), and Yehuḏah, and Eḏom, and the children of Ammon, and Mo’aḇ, and all those trimmed on the edges, who dwell in the wilderness. For all the nations are UNCIRCUMCISED, and all the house of Yisra’ěl are UNCIRCUMCISED IN HEART!”
Strike 4:
“and know His will”Shaul teaches us to not only know his will through the law but that it is good when used lawfully and not corrupted by false religion
1Ti_1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
1Th 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in purification and honour;
1Th 4:5 not in passion of lust, like the nations (heathens /Gentiles) who do not know Elohim.
Strike 5:
"and approve the things that are excellent"
Shaul approves the the things that are excellent ie. growing in righteousness and preaches these very words elsewhere
Php 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Messiah;
Php 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Messiah Yah’ushua, unto the splendour and praise of Elohim.
1Ti_1:8 But we know that the law is good (excellent), if a man use it lawfully;
Rom 7:12 So that the Torah truly is set-apart, and the command set-apart, and righteous, and good. ( beneficial, excellent)
Strike 6:
“being instructed out of the law”
Shaul preaches and does that himself too
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
DEFINITION OF TORAH IS : INSTRUCTION, LAW
Strike 7:
“and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law”Shaul quotes the very same mandate given him by Messiah to lead men to righteousness in To’rah through moral conviction toward Messiah. He is confident not in himself but in Messiah and his Father’s To’rah.
Shaul specifically teaches the babes to grow up in To’rah toward righteousness which is the first and foremost principle of To’rah (the Word) (not circumcision). He specifically speaks against teachers who do not preach the doing the righteousness of To'rah (doing good versus evil)
Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of Elohim (To’rah); and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Shaul himself is an instructor of the foolish
*(etymology: “god spell” >> pagan word “gospel” added later in corrupt translations replacing “good message”but truly manifesting the intent of a message without To’rah thus a spell already present in Shaul’s day)
**Messiah's definition of truth
Strike 8:
"You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself?"
Shaul preaches that he must practice what he preaches, he must move on to perfection in To’rah.
Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Messiah, let US (himself included) go on unto perfection (in the To’rah); not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works (transgressing To’rah), and of moral conviction toward Elohim (which is keeping To'rah)
Strike 9:
"You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?"
Shaul himself preaches do not steal
1Co 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of Elohim
Strike 10:
"You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery?"Shaul preaches do not commit adultery to men
And again
1Co 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Elohim? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
And again
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended (summarised not replaced) in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Strike 11:
"You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?"
Shaul agrees at a meeting with the assembly in Yarushalom against idols
Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols...
and preaches
1Co 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
And again
Col 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
and of course he actually abhorred idolatry (unlike all those who on Face book and Youtube liked Joseph Prince's 250 "church" members' idolatry at Chinese New Year [Year of the Water Dragon (Satan) and continue to call him a "man of god")
Act 17:16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred (provoked) in him, when he saw the city completely given to idolatry.
Strike 12:
" You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor Elohim through breaking the law? "Shaul makes it clear that you must practice what you preach ( nothing new or different to Messiah). Only then can the law be boasted in since you can only bring honour to it (perfect it) by how you keep it.
Messiah teaches the same
Strike 13:
So as I have shown Shaul has preached all these things in Rom 2 himself as a Jew.Anyone quoting Shaul here in Rom 2:17 then, as though he is condemning any righteous Jew or ex-Gentile preaching To’rah like a Jew is then trying to make Shaul the biggest hypocrite which he is not! They cannot make the same condemnation against us who are made Yahudim (Jews), worshipers of Ya'uah, of the commonwealth of Israel, by the blood of Messiah and circumcision of the heart, to teach and keep To'rah.
Shaul does not condemn the righteous preacher of To’rah who has moral conviction in Messiah like himself. Instead he is condemning the unrighteous lawless preacher who blasphemes the law ( like Joseph Prince) by not keeping it while pretending to be religious ( trusting in circumcision or a Jzeus idol).
Since Shaul preaches righteousness he knows he must practice keeping of To’rah after justification through Messiah which he clearly preaches and does.
Shaul preaches that we blaspheme Elohim by doing these things if we are preaching the scriptures like Joseph Prince “preaches” but sends 250 of his people to “proudly” commit idolatry and honour the Year of the Water Dragon ( Satan) at Chinese New Year. Or worse still when one preaches against the To’rah altogether by saying it is obsolete like Joseph Prince and his followers do.
Strike 14:
So Shaul has said
Rom 2:23 You who make your boast in the Torah, through the transgression of the Torah do you disrespect Elohim?
Rom 2:24 For “The Name of Elohim is blasphemed among the nations because of you,” Isa_52:5 as it has been written.
BUT NOW I MUST ADD THE PART THAT WAS CONVENIENTLY LEFT OUT BY OUR ANTI-TORAH DECEIVER.
THE SUB-CONCLUSION OF THIS CHAPTER (verse 25-29).
WHICH IS AGAIN THAT LAWLESS CIRCUMCISION (CIRCUMCISION WITHOUT TO'RAH) MUST BE MADE OBSOLETE
AND NOT THE LAW (TO'RAH) ITSELF!
Rom 2:25-29 For circumcision indeed profits if you practice the Torah, but if you are a transgressor of the Torah, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
So, if an uncircumcised one watches over the righteousnesses of the Torah, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned as circumcision?
And the uncircumcised by nature, who perfects the Torah, shall judge you who notwithstanding letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the Torah!
For he is not a Jew (Yahuda) who is so outwardly, neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.
But a Yahuda is he who is so inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart,in Spirit, not literally, whose praise is not from men but from Elohim. see 1Co 7:19, Exo 19:5, Deu 10:12-16, Deu 30:6-8.
s in the flesh (circumcision) whose praise is of men but the law of Elohim saying it is just, good and righteous and he praises those who do it.
Heb 10:26-30 For if we sin purposely* after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins,
(* This type of sinning is in contrast with sinning ignorantly – Heb 9:7, Numb 15:15-28. ) but some fearsome anticipation of judgment, and a fierce fire which is about to consume the opponents (Isa 26:11). Anyone who has disregarded the Torah of Mosheh dies without compassion on the witness of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment do you think shall he deserve who has trampled the Son of Elohim underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was set apart as common, and insulted the Spirit of favour? For we know Him who has said, “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay, says יהוה.” And again, “יהוה shall judge.
Strike 15:
Conclusion:
Shaul does not make the law obsolete but calls the preaching of it, while not actually doing it, blasphemy. Since he himself preaches To'rah, he must and does do it himself so that he is not a blasphemer of the name Yah’uah. Shaul clearly tells us he used to be an ignorant blasphemer, one who preached To'rah in letter but did not practice To’rah since he had believed only circumcised Jews could be Elohim’s chosen people regardless of whether To’rah was actually being kept and thus persecuted exGentile, new believers even though they kept To’rah.
1Ti 1:13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained kindness, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
Gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Messiah WE ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Messiah the minister of sin? LET IT NOT BE!.
Strike 16:
REMEDY
Become learned and stable in To’rah and stop misreading and misquoting Shaul
into the ERROR OF LAWLESSNESS.
2Pe 3:16-18 as also in all his (Shaul’s) letters, speaking in them concerning these matters,
in which some are hard to understand,c which those who are untaught
and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures. See 2 Co11:6.
You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness,
being led away with the DELUSION OF THE LAWLESS (To’rahless),
but grow in the favour and knowledge of our Master and Saviour יהושע Messiah. To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Aměn.
