Are Earthquakes Increasing In These Last Days?

Are Earthquakes Increasing?

A Shocking Revelation

[pw = pagan word translation]

The Bible mentions the signs that will appear at the beginning of the end times or more accurately tribulation or sorrows. Yahushua (pw Jesus) mentioned over +/-2000 years ago the following:

Mat 24:7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Mat 24:8  All these are the beginning of sorrows

Now many skeptics will say but the world has always had earthquakes, wars and famine and even plagues or pandemics.

Well the point is that these earthquakes are not only increasing but are occurring in diverse places as Yahushua says, "in divers(e) places". This infers that they will also occur in places that are not prone to much seismic activity.

Our aim here is to prove that this is indeed happening and we have chosen the continent of Africa particularly South Africa as our subject of attention. We do this because South Africa is not considered a seismologically active area which has still been the case over the last 3 decades or so.

SA Earthquake Frequency 1969

SA Earthquake 2013But how about recently?

We plotted two graphs.

In this first graphic we can clearly see only four recorded earthquakes between 1969 and 2013.

But if we zoom in to the period in red we get to graphic 2...

...which clearly shows how the frequency has dramatically increased since 2013. The bars with orange indicate two events that happened within the same month, one occurring within a three week period and due to different events!

Some may argue that the seismic activity is being increased by mining activity however that does not negate an increase in earthquakes as prophesied, it only offers a possible cause. We would however debunk this theory as there have recently been offshore events included in this graphic which are obviously nowhere near South Africa's mining activity. Furthermore South Africa's seismic activity is also connected to the African Rift which is currently widening at 1 mm per year.

Evolutionists would project future events into the far distant future however rapid changes occurred when continental shift happened previously in line with the biblical flood.

(data reference Wikipedia )

So we calculate an average of 0.09 earthquakes every year between 1969 and 2012 (period A) and an average of 1.7 a year between 2013 and 2020 (period B) this translates to a whopping increase of 18.8 times more earthquakes (comparing period A to B).

When one searches for recent data post 2010 on total global seismic energy over the years it seems very difficult to find any data. If you have any please email us so we can investigage further, if not then we ask why is such data not available? IN the meantime we will keep searching for such information should it become available.

With increases in volcanic activity there is often a huge increase in earthquake acitivity as well such as was seen in May 2021 with the volcanic activity in the Congo where 92 earthquakes were reported in just 24 hours.

When Yahushua prophesied earthquakes in "divers(e) places" many think that major earthquakes are limited close to tectonic plates. However actual events to the contrary are causing scientists to re-evaluate their thoughts on this which again proves the accuracy of bible prophecy.

Earthquake Potential Where There Is No Earthquake History

April 22, 2015 Seismological Society of America

It may seem unlikely that a large earthquake would take place hundreds of kilometers away from a tectonic plate boundary, in areas with low levels of strain on the crust from tectonic motion. But major earthquakes such as New Zealand's 2011 Mw 6.3 quake have shown that large earthquakes do occur. So what should seismologists look for if they want to identify where an earthquake might happen despite the absence of historical seismic activity?

Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado shows that some of these regions had underlying features that could have been used to identify that the region was not as "aseismic" as previously thought. Some of these warning signs include debris deposits from past tsunamis or landslides, ancient mid-continent rifts that mark the scars of earlier tectonic boundaries, or old fault scarps worn down by hundreds or thousands of years of erosion. Earth's populated area where there is no written history makes for an enormous "search grid" for earthquakes. For example, the Caribbean coast of northern Colombia resembles a classic subduction zone with the potential for tsunamigenic M>8 earthquakes at millennial time scales, but the absence of a large earthquake since 1492 is cause for complacency among local populations. These areas are not only restricted to the Americas. Bilham notes that in many parts of Asia, where huge populations now reside and critical facilities exist or are planned, a similar historical silence exists. Parts of the Himalaya and central and western India that have not had any major earthquake in more than 500 years could experience shaking at levels and durations that are unprecedented in their written histories.
